The Government of Sikkim flagged off its first certified organic large cardamom consignment, produced by Sikkim IFFCO Organics Limited (SIOL), marking a major milestone for the state’s organic farming sector. Minister Puran Gurung highlighted the initiative as a significant step toward expanding global market access and boosting farmer income. Officials emphasized the importance of value addition, youth participation, and enhanced awareness to strengthen Sikkim’s agricultural productivity. The event celebrated collaborative efforts aimed at promoting Sikkim’s premium organic cash crops internationally.
