Hp News Service Meghalaya reported that India’s agriculture sector supports nearly 65% of the population and employs about 46.1% of the workforce, yet contributes only 17–18% to GDP, while depending heavily on imported chemical fertilizers.With rising concerns over fertilizer resource limitations and low nutrient-use efficiency (NUE), India is promoting smart alternative fertilizers and organic inputs to achieve nutrient self-sufficiency by 2047.
