A study in Denmark by Henrick et al., published in Science Direct Journal has compared minimum tillage (MT) and conventional tillage (CT) under similar field conditions to assess soil organic carbon (SOC). MT increased SOC mainly in the top 0–10 cm of soil, while CT showed slightly higher SOC in deeper layers, with no major differences below 30 cm. Overall, total SOC across the full 0–70 cm soil profile was similar between both systems. Long-term MT showed some potential to increase surface carbon, but overall benefits depend on time and management practices.
